The Delhi Government has taken a step to strengthen the media and entertainment sector by signing a Memorandum of Understanding with Prasar Bharati to develop the national capital into a global hub. The agreement was formalised through Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation at Bharat Mandapam during the International Film Festival in New Delhi yesterday. The initiative aims to create a state-of-the-art integrated ecosystem bringing together key segments of the media industry, including film, television, animation, visual effects, gaming and comics (AVGC), on a single platform.
Speaking on the occasion, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta described the initiative as a milestone in positioning Delhi as a global media and entertainment hub. She said the project aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Make in India vision and will further strengthen the country’s creative economy. On the occasion, Delhi Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra said, under the leadership of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, the government is committed to developing Delhi as a preferred destination for investors, producers and creative professionals from across the world. He added that the city’s rich talent pool and technical expertise will play a crucial role in achieving this vision.
