Delhi Government flags off 500 EV buses, launches Delhi-Panipat bus service

The Delhi Government today flagged off 500 EV Buses and launched the Delhi-Panipat Bus Service in the National Capital. Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said, the total number of buses in the National Capital has now crossed over four thousand. She said, the government has set a target to increase the fleet to 14,000 by 2028. She noted that a new electric vehicle policy will be introduced soon in Delhi to promote clean and environmentally friendly transportation.
 
On the occasion, Delhi Transport Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh said, after a gap of 18 years, inter-state bus services have been restarted by the Delhi Government, which will provide greater convenience to passengers traveling to neighbouring states.
 
The programme was organised to mark the completion of one year of the Delhi Government. As part of the celebrations, the government will organise several programmes and inaugurate multiple initiatives till the 2nd of next month. Delhi Government will also release a one-year report card on the 21st of this month and will be showcased door to door.
