The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has termed the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway a landmark in sustainable infrastructure and wildlife conservation. In a social media post, Minister of State for the Ministry of Road, Transport and Highways Harsh Malhotra informed that a joint study by the National Highways Authority of India and the Wildlife Institute of India has shown successful implementation of wildlife mitigation measures on the 18-kilometre Ganeshpur-Asharodi stretch.
He highlighted that over 40 thousand images have recorded 18 wildlife species using dedicated underpasses, ensuring safe and uninterrupted animal movement. Mr Malhotra added that the initiative sets a new benchmark in eco-sensitive development.
