Delhi CM Rekha Gupta describes Union Budget 2026-27 as next-generation budget

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta today said that the Union budget 2026-27 provides opportunities for youth, women, the middle class, and presents a clear roadmap for strengthening the country’s economy.
Addressing a press conference today in New Delhi, Mrs Gupta termed this year’s budget as the next-generation Budget, linking sectors such as health, sports, tourism, and infrastructure directly with employment generation. She especially welcomed the provision for girls’ hostels in every district, saying it will improve access to education and employment for women, including those coming to Delhi from other states.
The Chief Minister also noted the increased budget allocation to 12 thousand 500 crore rupees for the Delhi Police. She added that the Delhi government is working hand-in-hand with the Central Government to realise the vision of a Viksit Bharat by 2047 with a focus on building a Viksit Delhi.
