The Delhi Legislative Assembly has removed the glass panels enclosing the Speaker’s Gallery and the Press Gallery on the orders of Speaker Vijender Gupta.

In a press conference today, Mr Gupta said that the media is the fourth pillar of democracy, and this marks a pivotal step towards enhancing democratic accountability. He stated that the Assembly belongs to the people and that the role of the press is to keep the people informed. He added that transparency in the functioning of the Assembly is non-negotiable. Talking exclusively to Akashvani News, Speaker Mr Gupta said that under the One Nation, One Application mission, the Delhi Legislative Assembly is going to be paperless by the next session.
