The Ministry of Defence has signed a contract with Bharat Electronics Limited, Hyderabad, for the procurement of five Ground-Based Mobile Electronic Systems worth 1,400 crore rupees for the Indian Army with minimum 72% indigenous content. The Ministry said that the contract, under the Buy (Indian-Indigenously Designed, Developed and Manufactured) category, was inked in the presence of Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh today in New Delhi. It added that the system will modernise the Indian Army units and strengthen the indigenous defence manufacturing ecosystem of the country.
