Defence Minister Rajnath Singh Releases Defence Procurement Manual 2025

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh today released Defence Procurement Manual (DPM) 2025 in New Delhi. New DPM will be effective from 1st of next month, which will facilitate the revenue procurement amounting to approx one lakh crore rupees by the three Services and other establishments under the Ministry of Defence.
Appreciating the efforts of his ministry and Headquarter Integrated Defence Staff for the revision of the manual, Mr. Singh expressed confidence that the new manual will simplify the procedures, bring uniformity in functioning and will be helpful in providing goods and services required by the Armed Forces for operational preparedness. He added that it will also provide more opportunities to  Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises and start-ups in the field of defence manufacturing and technology duly ensuring fairness, transparency and accountability in procurement.
On the occasion, Financial Advisor (Defence Services) Dr Mayank Sharma briefed overview of new DPM and highlighted the way the manual has been prepared in close consultation with the services and other stakeholders. Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi, Chief of the Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi and Defence Secretary also attended the event.
