Defence Minister Rajnath Singh today paid tributes to social reformer Raja Rammohan Roy on his birth anniversary. In a social media post, Mr Singh said that Raja Rammohan Roy fought against social evils, superstitions, and inhuman traditions, such as the practice of Sati, thereby strengthening the foundation of modern India. The Defence Minister added that the progressive thinking and dedication to social reform of the brilliant thinker and visionary Raja Ram Mohan Roy will continue to inspire the countrymen forever.
