Defence Minister Rajnath Singh today assured the country that those responsible for Delhi car blast will be brought to justice and will not be spared under any circumstances. Addressing the Delhi Defence Dialogue in New Delhi today, Mr. Singh informed that leading investigative agencies are conducting a swift and thorough inquiry into the incident. He added that the findings of the investigation will soon be made public. The Minister also expressed condolences to all those who lost their lives in the tragic accident.
Speaking about Delhi Defence Dialogue, the Minister said that it has emerged as a flagship platform for thoughtful deliberation and strategic engagement on the multifaceted challenges of defence and security. He said that the dialogue brings together informed voices, fresh perspectives and analytical insights to examine contemporary trends and evolving ideas in a rapidly transforming global environment.
The Defence Minister further emphasized that India must move decisively from technology adoption to leadership, setting the pace for future innovation. He added that India’s strength lies in its ecosystem of talent, ideas, and partnerships, including a young workforce and a vibrant, risk-taking start-up culture. The Minister said that the nation not only needs to acquire new technologies but needs to create the conditions where technology can thrive. Mr. Singh highlighted that the country’s defence-industrial base is expanding with renewed confidence and clarity of direction. The Defence Minister added that the synergy between DRDO, Indian Armed Forces, industry and academia is deepening and creating a virtuous cycle of research, testing, field feedback and innovation. He further mentioned that Initiatives like iDEX and the Technology Development Fund are nurturing a new generation of innovators who see national defence not merely as a sector of employment but as a mission of national service.
The Minister urged the Armed Forces to remain on the lookout for best global practices not just in technology related to equipment, but also those related to training, logistics, planning, and management systems. He endorsed to leverage technology and data analytics in the capital procurement process to improve decision-making and ensure optimal use of every resource. Mr. Singh further stressed on absorbing and adapting to disruptive technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, Quantum Computing and Swarm Tech.
