Defence Minister Rajnath Singh addresses National Security Summit 2.0 in New Delhi

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh today said that Operation Sindoor gave a message to the world that India will not tolerate any terrorist activity under any circumstances.

Speaking at the National Security Summit 2.0 in New Delhi, Mr Singh said that India is no longer the country that moves forward with that old mindset, where terrorist attacks happen on our soil, and we just keep issuing diplomatic statements. He reaffirmed the government policy of no distinction to be made between terrorism and its sponsors. He described Pakistan as a centre for International Terrorism and India as a hub of Information Technology.

Mr Singh emphasised the needs of the new world order and adapting governance according to its different dimensions. He also noted the need to move forward with even greater alertness in this changing world order.

Further, highlighting the rapid changes in the era amid the West Asia Conflict, the Minister said that the country needs to adopt a system where every individual receives respect and dignity and where no differences take the form of disputes and no disputes become the cause of destruction.

The Minister also highlighted the role of Artificial Intelligence in the country and said that the technology has become an integral part of India’s forces. He added that in this New World Order, AI is becoming an indispensable part of a country’s strategic preparedness.

The Defence Minister also noted that India’s defence exports reached a record 38,424 crore rupees in the financial year 2025-26, registering a growth of over 62 per cent compared to the previous year. He said efforts are being made to further enhance these figures.

Mr Singh added that the government is working to democratise computing infrastructure across the country, enabling youth in smaller towns to contribute to the field of Artificial Intelligence. He said initiatives such as expanding GPU capacity, FutureSkills programmes, and the establishment of Data and AI Labs reflect India’s commitment to staying at the forefront of the technological revolution.
