Jalandhar Doordarshan is celebrating the Silver Jubilee of DD Punjabi, today. A special cultural program ‘Jashan Di Raat’ will be organised during evening which will have renowned artists and singers from the film industry. It will be telecast live.

Chairman, Prasar Bharati, Navneet Kumar Sehgal will be the Chief Guest of the cultural evening. The Earth Station up-linking started working for regional satellite DD Punjabi service from August 6, 1998. It was inaugurated by the then Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Late Smt. Sushma Swaraj.

DD Punjabi’s 24-hour transmission was inauguated by former Chief Minister of Punjab, Sh. Prakash Singh Badal on August 5th, 2000 in the presence of then Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Sh. Arun Jaitley.
