In Ladakh, District Administration Kargil accorded a grand and heartfelt welcome to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama on his arrival in Zanskar yesterday. Present on the occasion were the Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor of LAHDC Leh, Advocate Tashi Gyalson, Deputy Commissioner Kargil, SSP and other senior administrators. Representatives of Zanskar Buddhist Association, Zanskar Gonpa Association, IKMT Kargil, Anjuman-e-Sahib Zamaan, Anjuman-e-Moinul Islam Zanskar, and thousands of devotees from across the country and abroad also participated in the welcome ceremony held at Karsha Photang.

The Dalai Lama addressed the gathering and offered blessings. He emphasised the importance of interfaith harmony, peaceful coexistence, and educating both the heart and the mind. He lauded the deep mutual respect among religious communities in Zanskar and highlighted the values of compassion and inner peace.

The visit of His Holiness Dalai Lama is part of the ongoing Zanskar Kargyopa Summer Philosophical Symposium 2025, aimed at promoting spiritual dialogue, ethical learning, and communal harmony.
