India Meteorological Department IMD has said that Cyclonic Storm Montha has weakened into a Deep Depression over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and adjoining Telangana. IMD said that the Cyclonic Storm over coastal Andhra Pradesh moved north-northwestwards during the past six hours, weakened into a Deep Depression and lay centered over coastal Andhra Pradesh and adjoining Telangana. IMD said, it is likely to move north-northwestwards across Andhra Pradesh and adjoining Telangana and south Chhattisgarh and weaken into a depression during next six hours.
Meanwhile, the weather agency has issued an orange alert for extremely heavy rainfall over Bihar, Saurashtra and Kutch for tomorrow. According to the Met department, heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected over Chhattisgarh, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, Telangana, West Bengal and Sikkim for two to three days. Similar conditions will prevail over East Madhya Pradesh, East Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat Region and Vidarbha.
IMD has also forecast thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty winds over Telangana, Gujarat, Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, East Rajasthan, Gangetic West Bengal, Konkan, Goa, Maharashtra, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal till 1st of the next month.
