Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat called on the Vice-President C P Radhakrishnan today at Parliament House in New Delhi. In a social media post, the Vice-President informed that he was briefed on the functioning, key initiatives, and future plans of the Ministry of Tourism and Culture. Mr Radhakrishnan further said that the discussion focused on strengthening the tourism and hospitality sectors, enhancing international cooperation, generating employment, and promoting India’s rich cultural and natural heritage. The Vice-President also appreciated the Ministries’ efforts and suggested greater focus on destination-specific tourism, as well as medical and spiritual tourism. During this meeting, Ministers of State Rao Inderjit Singh and Suresh Gopi were also present.
