CPN (UML) Postpones Central Committee Meeting to October 15–17 in Kathmandu

In Nepal, the CPN (UML) Central Committee meeting has been postponed. In today’s 58th secretariat level meeting of CPN (UML) party, it was decided that the central committee meeting meeting will now take place from October 15 to 17 in Kathmandu. Earlier, the meeting was scheduled for October 13 to 15. 
In the meeting of Bhaktapur District Committee of UML in Gundu yesterday, CPN (UML) Chair and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has rejected the dissolution of the lower house, calling for its reinstatement. He indicated that his party will not take part in the parliamentary elections scheduled for March 5, next year. He said, the UML will fight for the reinstatement of the House of Representatives that was dissolved on September 12. Following the Gen-Z movement on September 8 and 9, a government was formed under the leadership of former Chief Justice Sushila Karki, the House of Representatives was dissolved, and March 5, 2026 has been determined as the date for the election to a new House of Representatives.
