Country’s legal and ethical framework must prioritise human welfare: Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal

Union Minister for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal has said that the country’s legal and ethical framework must prioritise human welfare. The Minister was addressing an event at the Ambedkar Law College in Kheri Markanda village of Kurukshetra district in Haryana today.

He emphasised that the vision of a Viksit Bharat goes beyond economic growth to lead a human-centric digital revolution. He added that active youth participation will shape democratic processes, technological advancement, and public engagement, while precise legislative drafting remains crucial for effective governance.

Earlier, the Minister, along with former MP Ishwar Singh, laid the foundation stone for a women’s hostel to be constructed at a cost of 6 crore rupees.

Later, Mr Meghwal interacted with students on new laws and reforms. He highlighted that the central government has introduced measures to ensure timely justice, including an Online Case Management System, e-Courts, and video-conference hearings.

He acknowledged challenges such as case backlogs, procedural complexities, and resource shortages, but said the government and judiciary are working together to address them and strengthen the justice system.
