In Maharashtra, continuous rain since yesterday has disturbed normal life and damaged crops. Most of the rivers are flowing above the danger level.

The Indian Meteorological Department today issued a red alert of extremely heavy rain for Kokan, Madhya Maharashtra, an Orange alert for Mumbai and yellow alert for vidharbha region of the sate. Besides, the IMD has predicted increased rainfall activity over Maharashtra till 30th of this month.

The weather department also warned of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds reaching 30-40 kmph likely at isolated places over Konkan, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada.
