Congress Party has released a list of 55 candidates for the upcoming assembly polls in Kerala. The Party has fielded Leader of Opposition in the State Legislative Assembly, V D Satheesan, from the Paravur assembly constituency; Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee Chief Sunny Joseph from the Peravoor assembly constituency; Senior Party Leader Ramesh Chennithala from the Haripad seat; and Chandy Oommen from the Puthuppally assembly constituency. Ramya Haridas has been fielded from the Chirayinkeezhu assembly seat, Bindu Krishna from the Kollam assembly constituency, Anwar Sadath from Aluva, K. P. Saju from the Thalassery constituency, V. S. Joy from Thavanur and T. J. Vinod from the Ernakulam Assembly Constituency. Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party has also released a list of 21 candidates for the assembly election in Kerala. The party has fielded Arun A from Chathannur assembly seat, Rani Anto from Thrissur seat, Noushad Kakkaden Randarkara from Muvattupuzha seat and Joseph Mathew from Kuttanad assembly constituency.

Polls for assembly elections in Kerala are scheduled for the 9th of April, and counting of votes will take place on the 4th of May.
