Congress has expelled Rahul Mankootathil, the former Kerala State Youth Congress Chief and MLA, from the primary membership of the party. This decision comes after the rejection of his anticipatory bail plea in a rape case by the sessions court. Prior to this, Mankootathil had been suspended from the Congress Parliamentary Party following the allegations against him.
