The cold wave continues in Himachal Pradesh due to snowfall and rain over the past three days. The minimum temperature remains below freezing point in more than half a dozen places in the state, and both maximum and minimum temperatures are recorded below normal. Sandeep Kumar, a scientist at the Meteorological Center Shimla, said that rain and snowfall are possible in some places in the middle and higher reaches of the state today, while the weather is expected to improve from February 4th.
The Meteorological Department has also issued an avalanche warning for Lahaul-Spiti. Meanwhile, the high peaks of Kinnaur tribal district and Kalpa and Chitkul received snowfall last night. Due to the snowfall, 17 link roads are still closed in the district. However, traffic on National Highway 5 remains normal.
