Coal and Mines Minister G. Kishan Reddy will launch the sixth tranche of auction for critical and strategic mineral blocks in Hyderabad tomorrow. The Ministry will also announce the preferred bidders for seven exploration licence (EL) blocks under the first tranche. The auction will include 4 blocks for mining lease and 19 for composite licence, covering minerals like lithium, graphite, titanium, cobalt, and others across multiple states.

 

 

This comes after the successful conclusion of the first EL auction, which awarded seven blocks containing gold, copper, lead, zinc, rare earth elements, and platinum group minerals across six states. So far, five tranches of critical mineral auctions have been completed, with 34 blocks awarded and revenue accruing to state governments.
