Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu welcomed the unanimous passage of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation (Amendment) Bill, 2026, in both Houses of Parliament of India, calling it a significant development for the state. In a statement shared on X, Mr Naidu said the legislation reflects the collective will and aspirations of the people of Andhra Pradesh. He noted that the decision provides clarity on the status of Amaravati, affirming it as the sole capital of the state. The Chief Minister expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his continued support toward Amaravati, highlighting key moments, including the foundation stone laying in 2015 and renewed backing in 2025. He also acknowledged the role of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the central government in facilitating the bill’s passage.
