Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant will inaugurate the 42nd Surashree Kesarbai Kerkar Sangeet Samaroha at Kala Academy, Goa, on 28th February evening. The two-day classical music festival will be held at Dinanath Mangeshkar Kala Mandir, Campal.
The event honours legendary vocalist Kesarbai Kerkar and celebrates India’s rich classical tradition. On Saturday, vocal performances will be presented by Pallavi Patil and Bhagyesh Marathe (Mumbai).
Sunday will feature a vocalist from Goa, Shakuntala Bharne; an Odissi recital by Aarya Nande (Chhattisgarh); a pakhwaj-tabla jugalbandi by Kishor Teli and Buddhesh Talkar (Pune); and evening recitals by Meeta Pandit (Delhi) and Pt Raghunandan Panshikar (Pune).
The festival is open to the public.
