Chief Justice of India, Justice BR Gavai, today said the process of mediation cannot be successful by any single law, rather it is possible only through consistent practices. He said, legal services authorities can also play a big role at the grassroots level for the successful implementation of mediation practices.
Inaugurating the 2nd National Mediation Conference 2025 at Bhubaneswar this evening, Justice Gavai emphasized the importance of mediation in achieving speedy justice and reducing the burden of courts. He also said, the process of mediation can be successful with commitments of judges, lawyers, community leaders and other stakeholders.
Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambampati, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, judges of Supreme Court, chief justices and senior judges of various High Courts, Attorney General R Venkatramani and Solicitor General Tushar Mehta and Advocate Generals of different states are participating in the Conference. The two-day Conference has five interactive technical sessions tomorrow which will be chaired by Supreme Court judges.
