Civil Aviation Minister K. Rammohan Naidu has informed that India has an adequate supply of Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF). Replying to supplementaries in the Rajya Sabha during Question Hour today, Mr Naidu said the country has supplies for the next 60 days without any interruption.

Responding to another supplementary, the Minister said India’s aviation sector has witnessed remarkable development over the past 12 years, driven by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision. He said, be it airports, aircraft, or travellers, everything has been doubled, and more workforces are required in the aviation sector. Mr Naidu said the Government is supporting skilling and courses to increase the workforce. He informed that the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) has two centres for aviation skilling in Chandigarh and Mumbai in accordance with airports and airlines.

The Minister said that 1,452 people have been trained in the centres, and according to their skill level and courses, they are recruited. In another supplementary, Mr Naidu said an emergency landing or a preferred landing is prioritised based on the safety of the landing. He said the airlines also have to comply with the safety regulations before deciding how to land.
