Civil Aviation Minister K. RamMohan Naidu today chaired a review meeting in New Delhi to assess the progress made by the Airports Economic Regulatory Authority (AERA) in formulating a tariff-linked performance oversight mechanism for major airports across the country. In a social media post, Mr Naidu said that during the meeting, AERA was directed to ensure that passenger facilitation is embedded within the airport charges framework in a transparent way while also encouraging airports towards operational excellence. He stressed the importance of service standards being benchmarked in an accountable manner, as Indian airports evolve into integral nodes of regional connectivity as well as global transit hubs.
