Civil Aviation Minister K Ram Mohan Naidu says over 2.19 lakh people travelled to India amid West Asia conflict

Minister for Civil Aviation K. Ram Mohan Naidu has said that over two lakh 19 thousand people have travelled to India amid the conflict in West Asia.

 

Replying to supplementary questions in the Rajya Sabha today, Mr Naidu informed that safety of operations remains the topmost priority, and whenever the airspace was available, the carriers operated. He said there is 24×7 communication with the air regulators of the concerned countries, and whenever there is a slot to operate, Indian carriers operate.

 

The Minister said, due to the closure of airspace in West Asia, Indian carriers cancelled over four thousand three hundred flights and over 11 hundred flights were cancelled by foreign carriers.
