Civil Aviation Minister Emphasizes Regional Collaboration on Air Safety

Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu has said that sharing expertise and experience in aircraft accident and investigation is essential to ensuring continued safety and resilience. In his message to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Regional Accident Investigation Workshop organised on the sidelines of the 13th meeting of the Asia Pacific Accident Investigation Group 2025, in New Delhi, Mr. Naidu said, the Asia-Pacific region has already been setting benchmarks in safety oversight and accident prevention, through collaborative efforts among member states. He added that India remains ready to extend its expertise and support to neighbouring countries in Asia-Pacific, as the country is already assisting Bhutan in conducting aircraft accident investigation.

The two day workshop focuses on critical aspects of aircraft accident investigations, including processes and reporting. This is the first time India is hosting the Meeting of the Asia Pacific Investigation Group. Organized by the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau, under the Ministry of Civil Aviation, the event has brought together approximately 90 representatives from aircraft accident investigation authorities across the region, as well as officials from ICAO and other international organizations.
