The CISF Vande Mataram Coastal Cyclothon-2026 reached Chicalim in Goa this evening after a gruelling 182 km leg from Wadatar. Goa Minister Mauvin Gudinho joined high-ranking officials, including DGP Alok Kumar and ADG Vijay Prakash, to honour the participants at the Mormugao Port Authority. This ambitious journey, marking 150 years of India’s national song, highlights the vital link between coastal security and national prosperity.
Remarkably, over 50 per cent of the participants are women, underscoring the inclusive strength of the force. The team, which started its 6,500 km journey in New Delhi on January 28, continues to engage local youth on maritime awareness and fitness.
Tomorrow, the cyclists will depart for a 156 km stretch toward Karwar as they continue their mission of “Secure Coasts, Prosperous India”.
