Christians across Nagaland observe Palm Sunday

Christians across Nagaland today observed Palm Sunday, commemorating the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem ahead of his capture and crucifixion. Various Churches across the state held special services, with the faithful carrying palm leaves as a symbol of the occasion.

In Kohima, hundreds gathered at Mary Help of Christians Cathedral, where the celebration began with a procession from PHQ Junction.

In the Wokha district, Sunday School students went around carrying palm leaves and singing hymns, spreading the spirit of devotion. Governor Nand Kishore Yadav and Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio extended greetings to the Christian community.

The Governor called for reflection on the values of humility and sacrifice, while the Chief Minister expressed hope that the occasion would inspire peace, faith, and compassion.
