Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar will meet Booth Level Officers (BLOs) in Bhubaneswar tomorrow to discuss various issues related to the electoral process. Around 800 BLOs from Khordha and Cuttack districts of Odisha are scheduled to participate in the meeting, which will focus on their critical role in grassroots verification of the electoral roll.
Mr Kumar will also hold meetings with senior state election officials to review operational preparedness and address challenges related to voter service management. The visit is being seen as a precursor to the launch of the third phase of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Odisha.
The process involves house-to-house verification aimed at eliminating duplicate entries and ensuring an error-free voter list. The Chief Election Commissioner, who has been on a three-day visit to Odisha since yesterday, visited the heritage village of Raghurajpur in Puri district, renowned for its Pattachitra art.
