In Chhattisgarh, the process of hearings on claims and objections received under the Special Intensive Revision, SIR, of the electoral rolls, along with verification of documents, will continue till the fourteenth of February. So far, hearings have been completed on nearly ninety-eight percent of the notices issued across the state.
After completion of the hearings on claims and objections and verification of documents, eligible applications will be disposed of and the final publication of the electoral rolls will be carried out on the twenty-first of February.
State Chief Electoral Officer Yashwant Kumar has appealed to the people to refrain from believing in rumours or misleading information and to rely only on official sources. For any assistance related to the electoral rolls, people may contact the Election Commission’s website, the concerned Booth Level Officer, or the District Election Office.
