In Chhattisgarh, one Maoist was killed in an encounter with security forces in the Polampalli police station area of Sukma district today. During a search of the site, the body of the Maoist, along with weapons, was recovered.
The Maoist was involved in several cases, including IED blasts and murder, and carried a reward of five lakh rupees.
Superintendent of Police of the district, Kiran Chavan, said that a team of the District Reserve Guard launched a search operation in the Polampalli area following information about the presence of Maoists.
During the operation this morning, an encounter took place between the security personnel and Maoists, in which one Maoist was killed.
