Union Home Minister Amit Shah today inaugurated a public service centre at Netanar village in Bastar district during his visit to Chhattisgarh. The facility has been named after tribal leader and freedom fighter martyr Veer Gundadhur. The public service centre has been set up in a CRPF security camp premises. Addressing the gathering, Mr Shah said that over the next one-and-a-half years, 70 out of nearly 200 security camps established in Bastar will be transformed into similar service centres. He said these centres will be self-sufficient and their design will be prepared by the National Institute of Design. He said the centres will provide banking facilities, Aadhaar services, ration cards, skill training and benefits related to all Central and State government schemes. Besides this, women living in Bastar division will also be linked to animal husbandry and dairy activities with the support of the National Dairy Development Board.
During his Bastar visit today, the Union Home Minister also paid tribute to security personnel who made the supreme sacrifice in the fight against Maoism at Amar Vatika in Jagdalpur.
Tomorrow, Mr Shah will chair the meeting of the Central Zonal Council in Jagdalpur. Chief Ministers and senior officials from Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand are expected to attend the meeting.
