The Government has released over two hundred twenty-four crore rupees under the 15th Finance Commission Grants to strengthen Rural Local Bodies and Panchayati Raj Institutions in Chhattisgarh for the financial year 2025-26. The Ministry of Panchayati Raj said that this is the first instalment of untied grants for 26 District Panchayats, 138 Block Panchayats and 11,279 Gram Panchayats in the state. Untied Grants will be utilized by Rural Local Bodies and Panchayati Raj Institutions for location-specific felt needs, under the Twenty-Nine subjects enshrined in the Eleventh Schedule of the Constitution, except for salaries and other establishment costs.
