Thirty Maoists surrendered in the Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh yesterday. Superintendent of Police Jitendra Yadav said, cash rewards amounting to eighty-one lakh rupees had been announced for twenty of them. The surrendered Maoists were accused of involvement in various incidents. Under the state government’s rehabilitation policy, they were provided an incentive amount of fifty thousand rupees each.
