Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief over the loss of lives due to a road accident in Chhattisgarh’s Raipur. In a social media post, the Prime Minister’s Office announced an ex gratia of 2 lakh rupees to the next of kin of each deceased. 50 thousand rupees will be provided to each of the injured. The Prime Minister wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
Last night, 13 people died in a road accident near Raipur. The dead include 9 women and 4 children. More than 13 people have been injured. About 40 people were travelling in a vehicle after attending a family program, when their vehicle hit a truck near Kharora. The accident was so severe that 13 people died on the spot. The injured are being treated at the Medical College Hospital in Raipur and the Community Health Centre in Kharora. The accident occurred near Saragaon on Raipur Baloda Bazar Road.
