Chandigarh Air Quality Remains Moderate After Diwali, Says Environment Director

In Union Territory, Chandigarh the Director of the Environment Department Mr Saurabh Kumar expressed satisfaction with the Air Quality Index in the city after Diwali. Addressing the media he said that, like every year, the Pollution Control Committee and the Environment Department have closely monitored the Air Quality Index (AQI) scale. He said, As expected on Diwali night, up to 7 PM, the AQI figures remained in the satisfactory to moderate category, but an increase was observed from 8 PM until 11-12 at night. After that, these figures naturally returned to the moderate category, he added. He said that city residents and citizens enthusiastically followed the rules issued by the Chandigarh administration.
