The Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) Delhi South Commissionerate has arrested key individuals for fraudulently availing ineligible Input Tax Credit (ITC) amounting to over 8.5 crore rupees through the use of bogus invoices.

According to the Finance Ministry, statements recorded from the accused revealed that the operations were controlled by the proprietor’s father, and he admitted to fake ITC claims. The arrested persons were produced before the Duty Magistrate and have been remanded to judicial custody for 14 days. It added that investigations are ongoing to trace the flow of funds and identify any additional beneficiaries.
