Central Government Boosts Jute Farming and Industry, Raises Jute Prices

The central government is encouraging jute and allied farming and the related industry. Government has also increased the price of jute. Union minister of textile Giriraj Singh today said this at the ICAR Central Research Institute for Jute and Allied Farmers CRIJAF at Barrackpore, Kolkata. He said the government has taken an initiative to procure jute bags of 14 thousand crore.

 

The Minister said government is committed to increasing the income of farmers. When income of jute farmers will increase the income of labourers and jute industry will automatically increase. Giriraj Singh today joined a programme at the CRIJAF. He inspected a museum, visited a biotec lab also. He also interacted with the lakhpati didis. He also chaired a meeting with the manufacturers of bio CNG. He said a crop cycle developed by the director of the institute will benefit the farmers.

       

Giriraj Singh said the state government of West Bengal has not taken any interest in the ICAR CRIJAF infrastructure.
