Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar exhorted the Booth Level Officer of Telangana to make Special Intensive Revision (SIR) successful in the state, whenever it is taken up. Interacting with the BLOs in Hyderabad this evening, the CEC praised their services stating that they are the key soldiers of the Election Commission of India, which conducts the largest democratic exercise of the world in a successful manner in India. He said the BLOs made SIR successful in Bihar and showed the path for the rest of the country while it is underway in 12 other states. He also said the next phase of SIR will be taken up in the remaining states soon. He asked BLOs to take pride in making the clean and transparent electors lists under the SIR.
The CEC also announced doubling of honorarium to the BLOs to 12 thousand rupees per year while it is increased to 18 thousand rupees for supervisors.
