The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested accused Harpal Singh Ahuja, in connection with a 24-Year-old case related to bank fraud. The CBI said the accused changed his locations between Mumbai and Faridabad and was arrested on the 12th of this month from Mumbai. The accused was brought and produced before the Special Judge, CBI Court, Ghaziabad, from where he has been remanded to Judicial Custody.

The CBI informed that it registered the instant case on 27 April in 2001, and after completion of investigation, a chargesheet was filed on 19 March 2003 against the accused and others. The CBI added that the accused being the main conspirator had absconded during the trial proceedings in 2014. It also informed that the trial proceedings against the other accused persons have been concluded, but the trial against accused Harpal Singh Ahuja, warranting his presence before the Court, is still pending.
