The Commission for Air Quality Management in NCR and Adjoining Areas (CAQM) has asked all Delhi-NCR states to launch a special drive for impounding of End of Life Vehicles. The data from Traffic Police, Transport agencies and municipal authorities on such vehicles must be compiled and submitted to the Commission through the nodal agency.
The CAQM held a review meeting for strict implementation of Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) by the concerned NCR State Governments and Punjab to abate air pollution in the region. Following the review, the Commission has called for special attention on controlling construction and demolition dust as well as intensifying the prevention of all such activities. It has directed Punjab and Haryana to revise its inspection protocol for verification of fire incidences from 48 hours to 24 hours. It has also asked special attention on all identified hotspots in Delhi while entry points of the national capital must be checked for the non-permitted vehicles. CAQM further directed that pending complaints from citizens on different Apps and social media platforms till date must be resolved in a time-bound manner. Daily reporting of actions under GRAP must be provided to Commission on daily basis without fail.
