The Commission for Air Quality Management has recently undertaken a comprehensive review of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) Management across Delhi and the NCR States. The review was conducted to assess the status of MSW management, with particular emphasis on the prevention of open burning of waste biomass, remediation of legacy waste, augmentation of processing facilities and compliance with statutory directions. The Commission also directed concerned agencies to plug gaps in the enforcement, segregation and monitoring of Municipal Solid Waste and biomass burning.
