CAQM conducts enforcement inspection in Nuh to curb pollution in NCR

To curb the pollution in the National Capital Region (NCR), the Commission for Air Quality Management in NCR and Adjoining Areas (CAQM) has conducted an enforcement inspection in Nuh, Haryana. The inspection was undertaken yesterday as part of the ongoing enforcement drive to intensify on-ground monitoring, particularly during the GRAP period.

The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, in a statement, said that a total of one hundred 5 inspections were carried out, including five construction and demolition sites, along with 100 industrial units.

The Commission said that such strong enforcement of actions under the extant GRAP is essential to curb non-compliance, reduce emissions at source and provide relief to the citizens residing near such non-compliant entities. The inspection was led in close coordination with NCR state governments, district authorities and agencies concerned in the region.
