With just five days remaining for the conclusion of the public campaign, candidates across all 140 constituencies in Keralam are intensifying their efforts and planning last-minute strategies to strengthen their positions. Akashvani correspondents report that the release of election manifestos by all major fronts has added momentum to campaign discussions in Keralam.
Following the earlier release of the NDA manifesto, both the UDF and LDF unveiled their manifestos yesterday, heating up debates on campaign platforms across the state. As part of the NDA campaign, senior BJP leader and Union Minister J. P. Nadda will arrive in Thiruvananthapuram today, accompanied by other national leaders.
Meanwhile, senior BJP leader Smriti Irani will participate in a roadshow at Aruvikkara in support of the BJP candidate. On the LDF side, CPM State Secretary M. V. Govindan will attend campaign events in the Vamanapuram constituency near Thiruvananthapuram.
CPI State Secretary Binoy Viswam will also take part in campaign programmes for LDF candidates in Thiruvananthapuram. For the UDF, Congress Working Committee member Deepender Singh Hooda will participate in campaign activities in Thiruvananthapuram. Senior Congress leader and Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar will attend the UDF campaign in Vattiyoorkavu. Campaigning continues to gain intensity as all fronts make their final push ahead of polling day.
