Campaigning for Final Phase of Bihar Assembly Elections to End This Evening

In Bihar, star campaigners and senior leaders from all parties threw their full weight behind their campaigns today, on the final day of campaigning for the Bihar Assembly elections.

 

The election campaign is set to conclude at 6 PM this evening. Leaders from both the NDA and the Mahagathbandhan are holding election rallies and roadshows across various assembly constituencies.

 

Among the BJP’s star campaigners, senior leaders and union ministers Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, and others addressed public meetings. Meanwhile, senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi addressed rallies in Kishanganj and Purnea for Mahagathbandhan candidates.

 

Our correspondent reports that addressing a public meeting in Kaimur, Janata Dal (United) President and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar stated that the previously poor power situation has improved during his tenure. He highlighted that residents of the state are receiving 125 units of free electricity and said this decision was made keeping the welfare of all in mind. The Chief Minister affirmed that if the NDA government is re-elected, development works will be further accelerated.

 

Senior BJP leader and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, addressing a public meeting at Sikti in Araria, claimed that Bihar now has all the facilities needed for development. He highlighted improved rail and air connectivity, attributing these achievements to the NDA’s development work. Mr. Adityanath asserted that the NDA focuses on development and heritage alongside the welfare of the poor.

 

On the other hand, Mahagathbandhan’s Chief Ministerial candidate Tejashwi Yadav, addressing an election rally in Kaimur, claimed he had provided five lakh government jobs to youth during his short 17-month tenure. Mr. Yadav promised that if given another opportunity, he would provide one government job to every household where no member currently holds government service.

 

Meanwhile, Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor conducted a roadshow in Kalyanpur, East Champaran district. Senior leaders from various parties continued to address back-to-back rallies across the state on the final day of campaigning.
