BWF World Junior Championships Return to India After 17 Years, Held in Guwahati

The BWF World Junior Championships return to India after 17 years and will take place in Guwahati from October 6 to 19. The event is split into two parts – the mixed team competition for the Suhandinata Cup, where 36 teams will compete, followed by the individual events for the Eye-Level Cup.

India, placed in Group H with the UAE, Sri Lanka, and Nepal, will kick off its campaign against Nepal tomorrow, followed by matches against Sri Lanka and the UAE. Matches will use a new best-of-three relay-scoring format, with each set played up to 45 points. Top players from countries like China, Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, and France have already arrived.

India has won 11 individual medals in the championship’s history, with its best showing in 2008 in Pune. With this edition, India becomes the fourth Asian country to host the tournament twice.
