Today, we are going to talk about the preparations on National Unity Day. It is a a day that reminds us of our nation’s greatest strength – **Unity in Diversity**. Patel was not just a freedom fighter – he was a *unifier*. After India gained independence in 1947, the nation was divided into over **560 princely states**. Many doubted if India could ever become one united country. But Sardar Patel took on the challenge with his unmatched diplomacy and firm resolve. Using persuasion, tact, and sometimes a bit of iron will, Patel convinced most of the princely states to join the Indian Union peacefully. Because of his tireless efforts, he earned the title **”Iron Man of India”** and became India’s **first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister.

क्षेत्रीय विशेष –
मनुष्य एवं वन्य प्राणीयों के बीच के संघर्ष में तेंदुआ सर्वोपरि है. पूरे देशभर में तेंदुओं ने अपनेआप को मनुष्य के आसपास रहने की काबिलियत हासील की है. इससे मनुष्य और तेंदुओं के बीच होनेवाले संघर्ष की घटनांओं में बढोतरी हो रही है. इसपर उपाय हेतु पुणे जिले के वन विभाग ने आर्टिफिशियल इंटीलिजन्स की मदद से एक यंत्रणा विकसित की है, जो कारगर साबीत हो रही है.
पुणे जिले के जुन्नर, शिरुर, चाकण, खेड इन तहसीलों में तेंदुओं की संख्या काफी है. इन तेंदुओं का प्राकृतिक अधिवास कम होनी के वजह से खासकर भक्ष्य पाने के लिए वह मानवी बस्तियों मं अक्सर आते रहते हैं. ज्यादा तर रात में छुपकर शिकार करने की उसकी काबिलियत के कारण वन विभाग के लिए यह एक बडी समस्या है. तेंदुए दिन में भी खेतों में काम करनेवाले किसानों पर हमला करने की संख्या भी गम्भीर है. इसपर उपाय स्वरुप तेंदुओं को पिंजडे में पकडकर दुबारा जंगल में छोडने का प्रावधान है, लेकिन वह काफी नही. आए दिन तेंदुओं के हमले की शिकायते वन विभाग को मिलती रहती है. अब आर्टिफिशियल इंटीलिजन्स की मदद से वन विभाग ने लेपर्ड डिटेक्शन सिस्टीम के साथ एक मोबाईल ऍप्लिकेशन विकसित किया है. इस सिस्टीम में तेंदुओं की लाखों प्रतिमाएं पहले से समायी गई है. सिस्टीम में लगे कॅमेरे में तेंदुआ दिखते ही सिस्टीम पता लगाती है की यह वाकई एक तेंदुआ है और उसका सायरन बजने लगता है. साथ ही दिखे गए तेंदुए की प्रतिमा वन क्षेत्र कर्मचारियों को मोबाईल पर ऍप्लिकेशन में प्राप्त होती है. यह इशारा मिलते ही उस जगह पर रेस्क्यू तथा लोगों को आगाह करने के लिए पंद्रह सदस्यों की एक टिम भेजी जाती है. ऐसी टिम्स सात बेसकॅम्प्स पर तैनात की गई है. सिस्टीम में लगे सायरन के आवाज की क्षमता 120 डेसीबल्स होती है, जिससे आसपास के इलाकों में रहनेवाले लोगों को आगाह किया जाता है. फिलहाल मोबाईल ऍप्लिकेशन के द्वारा तेंदुए का ऍलर्ट केवल वन अधिकारियों को मिल रहा है. आगे चलकर हर ग्रामस्थ के मोबाईल पर ऐसे ऍलर्ट्स भेजने पर काम किया जा रहा है. इस सिस्टीम के द्वारा तेंदुए का पता लगाने की सफलता का प्रतिशत नब्बे है, सिस्टीम अपडेट होन के साथ इसमें और अचूकता आने की उम्मीद है. इससे पूर्व अनायडर नाम की सिस्टीम इस्तेमाल हो रही थी. लेकिन उसमें कॅमेरे के सामने कोई भी जानवर आने पर सायरन बजता था. और तेंदुए का ऍलर्ट मिलने की गुंजाईश कम रहती थी. आशा है, देशभर में जहां तेंदुएं मनुष्यों का साथ संघर्ष में है, वहां भी इस तरह की सिस्टीम उपयुक्त साबित होगी. परिक्रमा के लिए, पुणे से मनोज क्षीरसागर.

The GST Bachat Utsav bagan on the 22nd of September as the Narendra Modi government slashed GST rates in many sectors, benefitting citizens across the country. Our correspondent brings a report on how the next generation GST reforms are boosting the economy of Chhattisgarh.
The next-generation GST reforms have brought major relief to handlooms and cement industry in Chhattisgarh. The taxes on Handloom sector, that is a vital means of livelihood for about 1.5 lakh weavers across the State has been reduced to 5 per cent. The tax cut has made handwoven sarees and Tussar silk fabrics more affordable and globally competitive, giving a significant boost to Indian handloom products in export markets. While the reduction of GST on cement from 28 per cent to 18 per cent has made cement affordable, lowering construction costs, stimulating housing demand, and generating additional employment opportunities in the infrastructure sector.
Talking to Akashvani News, Chairman of Chhattisgarh Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Jitendra Prasad Gupta said that the reduction of GST on cement will benefit the construction industry.

Benchmark domestic equity indices, the Sensex and the Nifty, extended initial losses and closed 0.7 per cent down today. Markets had started day on a weak note, and stayed in negative zone throughout the session. The Sensex fell 593 points to close at 84 thousand 404, while the Nifty dropped 176 points to settle at 25 thousand and 878. In the Forex market, the rupee today depreciated by 50 paise to trade at 88 rupees and 70 paise, a short while ago. In the global crude oil market, Brent Crude was trading over 0.6 per cent down at 64 US dollars and 49 cents per barrel, and WTI Crude was trading over 0.6 per cent down at 60 US dollars and eight cents per barrel in intra-day trade. In the Indian bullion market, 24-karat gold was trading up at 1,21,350 rupees per 10 grams, and silver 999 fine was trading up at 1,47,010 rupees per kilogram, when reports last came in.

Homi Jehangir Bhabha, was born on this day in 1909.He was an Indian nuclear physicist who is widely credited as the “father of the Indian nuclear programme”. He was the founding director and professor of physics at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), as well as the founding director of the Atomic Energy Establishment, Trombay (AEET) which was renamed the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre in his honour. TIFR and AEET served as the cornerstone to the Indian nuclear energy and weapons programme. He was the first chairman of the Indian Atomic Energy Commission (AEC) and secretary of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE). By supporting space science projects which initially derived their funding from the AEC, he played an important role in the birth of the Indian space programme. Bhabha was awarded the Adams Prize (1942) and Padma Bhushan (1954), and nominated for the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1951 and 1953–1956. He died in the crash of Air India Flight 101 in 1966, at the age of 56.

He was a professor of literature at Sarah Lawrence College who worked in comparative mythology and comparative religion. His work covers many aspects of the human condition. Campbell’s best-known work is his book The Hero with a Thousand Faces (1949), in which he discusses his theory of the journey of the archetypal hero shared by world mythologies, termed the monomyth.

Abhijeet Bhattacharya was born on this day in 1958. professionally known as Abhijeet, He is an Indian playback singer who primarily sings in the Hindi film industry. As well as Hindi, he has sung in his native language Bengali and in other languages including Marathi, Nepali, Tamil, Bhojpuri, Punjabi, and Odia, in both West Bengal and Bangladesh.
