PRIME MINISTER’S APPEAL FOR SWADESHI PRODUCTS AND AYURVEDA AAHARA.

 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made a strong appeal for reviving the spirit of Swadeshi, urging Indians to prioritise locally-made products and stand united in the face of growing global economic uncertainty. Speaking at a public meeting in his Varanasi Lok Sabha constituency, PM Modi warned that the world economy is entering a phase of instability and unpredictability. In such times, countries are focusing solely on their interests. India, too, is on the path to becoming the world’s third-largest economy and must remain alert to its economic priorities. Therefore, India must remain vigilant about its economic interests.

 

The Prime Minister said that  If we want India to become the third-largest economy, every political party and every leader, keeping aside their hesitations, must work in the nation’s interest and awaken the spirit of swadeshi among the people.

 

प्रधानमंत्री ने कहा कि नागरिकों की भी कुछ ज़िम्मेदारियां होती हैं। उन्होंने सभी से स्वदेशी का संकल्प लेने का आग्रह किया। उन्होंने स्वदेशी को किसी भी भारतीय के पसीने और मेहनत से बनी चीज़ के रूप में परिभाषित किया और देशवासियों से “वोकल फॉर लोकल” के मंत्र को अपनाने का आह्वान किया। प्रधानमंत्री ने नागरिकों से “मेक इन इंडिया” उत्पादों को बढ़ावा देने का संकल्प लेने का आग्रह किया। श्री मोदी ने कहा कि हमारे घरों में आने वाली हर नई वस्तु स्वदेशी होनी चाहिए और यह ज़िम्मेदारी हर भारतीय को निभानी चाहिए।

 

प्रधानमंत्री ने प्रत्येक व्यापारी और दुकानदार से केवल स्वदेशी उत्पाद बेचने का संकल्प लेने की अपील की और कहा कि यही राष्ट्र की सच्ची सेवा होगी। उन्होंने लोगों से आगामी त्योहारों के मौसम में स्वदेशी उत्पादों का उपयोग करने का आग्रह किया और कहा कि यही महात्मा गांधी को सच्ची श्रद्धांजलि होगी।

 

AYURVEDA AAHARA

 

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), in consultation with the Ministry of Ayush, has released a definitive list of Ayurvedic food preparations under the category of “Ayurveda Aahara”in New Delhi yesterday. This significant step brings India’s time-honoured food wisdom into the mainstream, following the introduction of the Food Safety and Standards Regulations in 2022. These regulations recognise foods based on recipes, ingredients, and processes from authoritative Ayurvedic texts, and the new list brings unprecedented clarity and confidence to consumers and businesses alike.

 

आयुर्वेद आहार भारत की खाद्य संस्कृति की समृद्धि का प्रतीक है, जिसकी जड़ें आयुर्वेद में हैं, जो दुनिया की सबसे पुरानी और समग्र स्वास्थ्य प्रणालियों में से एक है। ये खाद्य उत्पाद प्रकृति के साथ सामंजस्य बिठाकर तैयार किए जाते हैं, पोषण, संतुलन और परंपरा का मिश्रण करके समग्र स्वास्थ्य को बढ़ावा देते हैं। नवंबर 2023 में वर्ल्ड फ़ूड इंडिया के उद्घाटन समारोह में, प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने कहा था, “भारत की स्थायी खाद्य संस्कृति हज़ारों वर्षों की यात्रा का परिणाम है। हमारे पूर्वजों ने आयुर्वेद को आम लोगों की भोजन शैली से जोड़ा था। जिस प्रकार भारत की पहल पर अंतर्राष्ट्रीय खाद्य संस्कृति का विकास हुआ, योग दिवस ने योग को दुनिया के कोने-कोने तक पहुँचाया, उसी प्रकार अब बाजरा भी दुनिया के कोने-कोने तक पहुँचेगा।”

 

आयुष एवं स्वास्थ्य और परिवार कल्याण राज्य मंत्री श्री प्रतापराव जाधव ने नागरिकों से आयुर्वेद आहार को अपने दैनिक जीवन में शामिल करने का आग्रह किया ताकि इसके दीर्घकालिक स्वास्थ्य लाभों का अनुभव किया जा सके। उन्होंने ज़ोर देकर कहा कि भारत के पारंपरिक ज्ञान पर आधारित ये समय-परीक्षित आहार पद्धतियाँ न केवल शरीर को पोषण देती हैं, बल्कि रोग प्रतिरोधक क्षमता को भी मज़बूत करती हैं, पाचन में सहायक होती हैं और समग्र स्वास्थ्य को बढ़ावा देती हैं। “आज की भागदौड़ भरी जीवनशैली में, आयुर्वेद आहार को अपनाना निवारक स्वास्थ्य सेवा और एक संतुलित, टिकाऊ जीवन शैली की दिशा में एक सार्थक कदम है।”

 

Ayurveda Aahara, or Ayurvedic food. Ayurvedic food emphasizes a holistic approach to diet, focusing on the individual’s unique constitution (Prakriti) and the impact of food on the body and mind. It stresses the importance of consuming foods that are both nourishing and healing, considering factors like taste, digestion, and the seasons. Dietary recommendations vary based on the season. For example, cooling foods are emphasized in the summer, while warming foods are encouraged in the winter. Ayurveda also promotes mindful eating practices, such as eating in a calm environment, chewing food thoroughly, and paying attention to hunger and fullness cues.

As floral offerings in temples find their way to landfills like the rest of the garbage from households, offices, hotels and industries, members of Rotary Club Vizag Couples (RCVC) decided to convert them into a valuable garden resource through their initiative. A report:

 

“On a daily basis, most devotees offer fresh flowers, fruits and coconuts to deities of the shrine to perform puja.  How about collecting and converting them into organic manure instead of allowing them to pile up in the corners of the temple premises corners that eventually enter landfills.  It is the same concept that nudged the members of Rotary Club Vizag Couples to work on a sustainable project known as ‘Swachh Devalayam.’ Even as organisations, institutions and departments have been taking up plantation and cleanliness drives as part of the Swachh Bharat Mission, the members of Club explored ways to convert temple waste into organic manure.

After deriving a desirable outcome from its first edition of the endeavour implemented at Panduranga Swamy temple, the club members took the project forward to Kali temple located on R.K. Beach Road of the coastal city, Vizag. Temple waste can effectively be recycled to nutrient-rich organic fertiliser through composting. In a hands-on learning initiative, students of PM SHRI Government High School, Wokha Village, have turned a kitchen garden into a vibrant space for learning and growth. Launched earlier this year, the student-run garden involves Classes 6 to 10, who grow vegetables while learning teamwork, responsibility, and sustainability.  More from our  Kohima Correspondent

 

“Divided into Red, Blue, and Green Houses, students manage plots under teacher guidance. Supported by government initiatives, the project promotes experiential learning and nurtures environmental awareness. Teachers also participate actively, fostering a strong sense of shared responsibility within the school community. The garden yields seasonal crops like corn, pumpkin, yam and others. The vegetables grown also supplement the school’s midday meal programme. A new herbal garden jointly managed by all houses, adds further value. Chichanbeni A Odyuo, student of PM SHRI Government High School, Wokha Village shares more on the initiative.

 

Seeds from harvested crops are carefully preserved for the next planting cycle, reinforcing a model of self-reliance and environmental stewardship. In June 2025, School Management and Development Committee members visited the garden, awarding prizes to outstanding student contributors. NEWS FROM DEFENCE

As part of the Indian Navy’s ongoing operational deployment to South East Asia, Indian Naval Ships INS Delhi, Shakti, and Kiltan, of the Eastern Fleet, commanded by Rear Admiral Susheel Menon, Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Fleet , arrived at Manila, Philippines.

 

The ships were accorded a warm welcome by personnel of the Philippine Navy, underscoring the strong and growing maritime ties between India and Philippines. The visit is a testimony to Indian Navy’s commitment to strengthening partnerships in the Indo-Pacific .

 

On arrival, Rear Admiral  Susheel Menon interacted with local media representatives, highlighting the shared commitment of both nations towards maintaining stability, and maritime security.

 

The visits reaffirms the strategic importance of the event and the high-level engagement with the Philippine Navy, representing India’s maritime outreach in the region.

मिथलेश चतुर्वेदी –

 

आज पुण्यतिथि है भारतीय फ़िल्म कलाकार मिथलेश चतुर्वेदी की। उन्होंने कई टीवी धारावाहिकों में भी अभिनय किया था। ‘कोई मिल गया’, ‘गदर’, ‘बंटी और बबली’ जैसी कई फिल्मों में अपने अभिनय की छाप छोड़ने वाले मिथिलेश चतुर्वेदी को लोग ‘मोहल्ला अस्सी’ में प्रिंसिपल की भूमिका के लिए भी जानते हैं। 2016 में गुलज़ार के नाटक ‘द कॉमेडी ऑफ एरर्स’ में उन्होंने विलियम शेक्सपियर की यादगार भूमिका निभाई थी। सन 1997 में उन्होंने पहली बार फिल्म ‘भाई भाई’ में काम किया था। ज्यादातर फिल्मों में वे साइड रोल में ही नजर आए। सत्या’, ‘ताल’, ‘गदर एक प्रेम कथा’, ‘अशोका द ग्रेट’, ‘रोड’, ‘बंटी और बबली’, ‘कृष’, ‘गांधी माय फादर’, ‘माय फ्रेंड पिंटो’ जैसी कई फिल्मों में उन्होंने काम किया। इस साक्षात्कार में वो अपने निभाए किरदारों का अनुभव साझा कर रहे हैं।

शकील बदायूँनी-

 

आज जयंती है प्रसिद्ध शायर और गीतकार शकील बंदायूनी की। तहजीब के शहर लखनऊ ने फ़िल्म जगत को कई हस्तियां दी हैं, जिनमें से एक गीतकार शकील बदायूँनी भी शामिल हैं।

 

उनकी शायरी रूमानी और दिल के करीब थी। शकील कहा करते थे:

 

मैं शकील दिल का हूं तर्जुमन

कह मोहब्बतों का हूं राज़दान

मुझे फख्र है मेरी शायरी

मेरी ज़िंदगी से जुदा नहीं

 

उन्हें अपने गीतों के लिये लगातार तीन बार फ़िल्मफेयर पुरस्कार से नवाजा गया। उन्हें अपना पहला फ़िल्मफेयर पुरस्कार वर्ष 1960 में आई “चौदहवी का चांद” फ़िल्म के ‘चौदहवीं का चांद हो या आफताब हो..’ गाने के लिये दिया गया था। शकील बदायूँनी ने क़रीब तीन दशक के फ़िल्मी करियर में दीदार (1951), बैजू बावरा (1952), मदर इंडिया (1957) और मुगल-ए-आजम (1960), गंगा जमुना (1961) सहित लगभग 90 फ़िल्मों के लिये गीत लिखे।

इसके अलावा, उन्होंने बेगम अख्तर द्वारा गाई गई कई लोकप्रिय ग़ज़लें भी लिखीं।

His lyrics for the song Husnwale Tera Jawab Nahin and Ravi’s music score both won Filmfare Awards for the hit film Gharana.

 

His other notable film with Ravi is Chaudhvin Ka Chand (1960), while Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam (1962) is his biggest hit with Hemant Kumar. The title song from Chaudhvin Ka Chand, rendered by Mohammed Rafi, won Badayuni the Filmfare Award for Best Lyricist in 1961.

स्वामी चिन्मयानंद सरस्वती-

 

आज पुण्यतिथि है भारत के प्रसिद्ध आध्यात्मिक चिंतक और वेदान्त दर्शन के विश्व प्रसिद्ध विद्वान  स्वामी चिन्मयानंद सरस्वती की। इनका मूल नाम ‘बालकृष्ण मेनन’ था। उन्होंने ‘गीता ज्ञान-यज्ञ’ की शरुआत की और वर्ष 1953 में ‘चिन्मय मिशन’ की स्थापना की। उपनिषद, गीता और आदि शंकराचार्य के 35 से अधिक ग्रंथों पर इन्होंने व्याख्यायें लिखीं। वर्ष 1993 में शिकागों में विश्व धर्म संसद में स्वामी चिन्मयानंद सरस्वती ने हिन्दू धर्म का प्रतिनिधित्व किया।

 

 

Jaidev-

 

Jaidev (3 August 1918 – 6 January 1987)Today is the birth anniversary of renowned music composer Jaidev.

 

His work includesHum Dono (1961), Reshma Aur Shera (1971), Prem Parbat (1973), Gharaonda (1977) and Gaman (1978)He won the National Film Award for Best Music Direction, three times for Reshma Aur Shera (1972), Gaman (1979) and Ankahee (1985). Listeners, Jaidev was the first music director to bag 3 National Awards.

 

His big break as a full-fledged music director came with Chetan Anand’s film, Joru Ka Bhai, followed by Chetan Anand’s next Anjali, both of these films became very popular.

आज जन्मदिन है महान शास्त्रीय गायक पंडित छन्नूलाल मिश्रा की। उन्हें हिन्दुस्तानी शास्त्रीय संगीत के कलाकारों में से एक माना जाता है। उन्होंने कहिल, दद्रा, ठुमरी, चैती, कजरी, होरी और भजन में अद्भुत संगीत प्रस्तुत किया है। उन्हें पद्म भूषण, संगीत नाटक अकादमी पुरस्कार, नौशाद पुरस्कार, स्मिथसोनियन अवॉर्ड, बिहार संगीत शिरोमणी पुरस्कार, ‘डॉ. राधाकृष्ण पुरस्कार, तानसेन अवॉर्ड, भात्खंडे पुरस्कार और काशी-विश्व सम्मान जैसे पुरस्कारों से सम्मानित किया गया है। वे आकाशवाणी और दूरदर्शन से भी जुड़े हैं।
